Themis Research Training

A variety of courses are available for academic staff and research administrators who need to use the Themis Research modules (Submissions, Proposals, Agreements, Human Ethics, Animal Ethics and Publications).

  • Introduction to Themis Research: this 1.0 hour class provides an overview of Themis Research, including an explanation of the Themis Research modules (Grants and Contracts, Ethics, Publications, and Public Research Profile) and is suitable for academic staff or research administrators who are not yet familiar with Themis Research. This course may be completed as a stand alone class or in conjunction with the 1.25 hour Introduction to Themis Staff Self Service the course run by the Enterprise Applications, Documentation and Training Services team.
  • Animal Ethics: step-by-step guide to the Themis Animal Ethics Online module incorporating technical, process and content requirements for submission and tracking of animal ethics applications. Refer to the Melbourne Research Office website for further details.
  • Grants and Contracts for Administrators (Part 1 - Submissions and Proposals): this course provides a demonstration in the use of the Grants (Submissions and Proposals) modules in Themis and allows participants to practise using the system. It is recommended that this course be taken in conjunction with Themis Grants and Contracts for Administrators (Part 2 - Agreements). Refer to the Melbourne Research Office website for further details on this course.
  • Grants and Contracts for Administrators (Part 2 - Agreements): this course provides a demonstration in the use of the Grants and Contracts (Agreements) module in Themis and allows participants to practise using the system. It is recommended that this course be taken in conjunction with Themis Grants and Contracts for Administrators (Part 1 - Submissions and Proposals). Refer to the Financial Operations website for further details on this course.
